OUR HISTORY

1925
At a Methodist Church on Ottawa Street a group consisting of both youth and adults met for the first time, therefore starting the 13th Windsor.
1932
The youth and adults who were enrolled in the Scout Troop moved to St. Georges Church on Albert Road. This was also the first year of our official existence, which was recognized by Scouts Canada (the first seven years they were not registered with Scouts Canada)
1936
The meetings were moved into a vacant store on Drouillard Road.
1939
We then moved again but this time into Trinity United Church, which is where the organization resides still to this day.
1982
We celebrated our 50th anniversary and created a commemorative crest to remember this important date.
1997
A contest was held to create a new crest to replace the simple number design. The winning crest design is displayed above and proudly worn by members of the 13th.
2002
We celebrate our 70th anniversary in Scouting, however to some this year actually represents the 77th anniversary due to our non registered years.
2010
We relocate to our new home (with a new Sponsor, the A.K.O. Fratmen). We also celebrate our 85th birthday.
Our new crest in also unveiled to celebrate this occasion.

What Scouting Means To ME

"Scouting is the perfect medium for building character in today's youth.
Scouting allows a young man to develop self-confidence, while teaching him
resepct for others, and himself. No other venue allows a young man to challenge
himself in ways that allow his development to prosper positively.

Carl Goodwin, 13th. Group Secretary
