A Brief History Of Beavers

Beavers began in Scouting in the early 1970's. The program is the "entry point"
for young members, aged from 5-7 years of age. The program allows children
to become familiar with Scouting, while removing some of the "challenging"
aspects of Cubs & Scouts. There is no badge work in Beavers, but members
participate in craftwork, games, and other activities that allow the youth
to create lasting friendships, while developing self-respect & responsibility.
Hopefully, this encourages youth to continue in Scouting, up through the "older" sections.
Beaver's also participate in Group activities (such as Apple Day & Church Parades),
allowing them to have an active role in the community.
Many parents become involved in Scouting as Leaders, when they enroll their children in Beaver's.
It is a fun-filled way for parents and their children to share their Scouting lives with each other
