***Unfortunately, this project has been postponed until 2010 for safety reasons***
Scouts Canada is currently organizing a project that will be done in 2009.
Check back soon to see how you can STILL help.

As you may know, Madagascar is a small country, located in the Indian Ocean, just off of the East coast of Mozambique in Africa. As with many countries in the region, the people who live there suffer through intolerable daily conditions, simply because they lack the type of infrastructure that we in North America take for granted. Clean water, education, and electricity are things of dreams there.

In the Summer of 2009, the 13th. Venture Group will be sending 2 members (of a 24 member group) to a village called Ambato Boeni, which is located in the Northwest corner of Madagascar. It is a joint effort with the village population to create safer drinking water conditions and to improve the living conditions for the people who live in the area . The group will also be building a new classroom for the village (which will also double as a cyclone shelter), and  finally, they will be developing a renewable form of electricity for the village.
The theme for the mission is: "Life, Learning, Light".

The "Build A Brick" Campaign is one way of helping Scouts Canada, and our Ventures, to accomplish their mission on this endeavor.
The cost of this project is enormous, but the benefits to the community demand action.
Please email us below to find out how you can help.

We are very proud of the effort that our Venturer's always give, and we are confident that the 13th. will be represented with pride.
